Thanks everybody! The WEB is great but searching is a science! I looked for something like this a while back and found nothing! It depends on how you formulate the search string!

Just for your information, since initially I did not find anything about an extender, I searched for the raw fiber and ends and also inquired about the maximum length the 1mm fiber can be used at. Someone that sells Norstar told me 400m. Well, I ran ~400’ from one building to another and it does not work. The diodes must be too weak for that distance. There is light at the end of the fiber but it does not connect. Luckily, I also ran outdoor fiber for data and have a spare pair that I can use with the extenders! I just have to talk the customer into spending another $1,000!!!

Thanks again for everyone’s help!

ok, i know this thread is old, but, has anyone used the extenders on the older 8x24. I have customer using one and I want to extend a fiber 0x16 stn mod except the ksu is equipped with the copper ds30 ports. I see you can get an optional copper adapter but does it work as well as the fiber?

Yes you can use it with copper and I have a couple of 824's running that way.

I don't remember having to use any adapter though. The units had both fiber or copper in/outs on them. Did they change them?
