Hey all. I am fairly new to the BCM50 and Nortel in general.

Last week I went ahead and setup ext. 225 to be a new employee in the office. VM was already created, so I went and changed the persons name on the VM and reset the VM password back to default. (VM is Call Pilot)

No, when people call in and no one can answer the phone, instead of getting the AA it gets this persons VM greeting.

Last Friday I went out and changed the forward no answer from VM to none and changed forward when busy to the VM pilot number. Now when she is on the phone, calls will route to her VM box. When she is not on the phone and people can't answer, it goes to the AA.

All the phones in the office are supposed to ring on all incoming calls. They have 6 incoming lines.

I am stumped. Hope someone has a good solution for me. I am headed back out there tomorrow to fix the problem.

Thanks,

Doubled

You can't call forward a phone to the v/m dn if the lines appear and ring on that phone ... Norstar doesn't treat CO incoming calls, transfers, and IC calls any differently. Remove all call forwarding on that extension and you will be fine.

I followed what all the other exts. are programmed. So, just take off the forward no answer and the DND?

From your comments, I am going to assume that you DO want AA to answer and not go to that person's VM. All you have to do is make sure that Forward No Ans is set for more rings than AA will answer on. Example: AA answer on 3 rings so FNA should be 4 or more. Make sure Forward on Busy is NONE. This way all incoming calls will get answered by AA in 3 rings. If a call is transfered to that phone it will go to VM in 4 rings.

Thanks. That makes sense now. I will give that a try tomorrow.
