Does anyone have any ideas regarding these 2 items?
We have replaced line cards in the past for other reasons, but they now have this peculiar static in the background, like bacon sizzling. We've already ruled out telco on this, the MPOE is 2 feet away from the system, so it's not bad feeder pairs (yes, we re-ran the jumpers).
Mainly I'm lost on the misdirected vm dialng. I expect not to see it happen when I go out there tomorrow as it is intermittent.
Here is the description from the customers email:
"There has been static in all lines for a while...usually fairly light and not very noticeable. Occasionally it gets bothersome. Also, we have extension problems. People dial in for one extension, and they get another. At first we chalked it up to dialer error, but it is happening more often lately, and to people like Linda (she's the owner) calling in from the outside world. It happens completely randomly, as far as I can tell, and the extensions are not similar." Thanks
Punch down all your damn pairs!..........(please).

Maybe, something is wrong with the cabinet. There could be a problem with the backboard inside it. That could be causing the card problem, and may have something to do with the misrouting. Not a hundred percent sure, but this sounds like a pretty quirky problem.

There were certain revs of LS/DS cards that produced white hiss like you are describing.

I've seen EMI cause some very odd intermittant problems. Have a look around and see if there's a transformer or alike that might be interfering with the switches operation.
Beer, sure I'll try one

IS the voicemail answering the lines from the outside world? If it is check to see how many rings before attendant picks up. Check your phones with voicemail to see if forward no answer is the same # of rings as AA. This will cause random boxes to pick up. Hope this helps

Please post s/w level and vm s/w level. also most ls/ds cards have always produced a slight static in the back ground, thats why we have in the past year always included the global CLID cards with our quotes, they dont seem to have this problem.
