webinars – need phone conference capability, ideally integrated web solution
The above has been requested in a system quote I have to prepare for a potential customer.
I am quoting a Nortel BCM for their solution.
I have not had the pleasure of dealing with this kind of request before. I will admit I am somewhat ignorant in this area.
Could someone explain how I might achieve this? What would I need as far as hardware/software for the BCM?
I have participated in webinars before. I am familiar with how they work, but never set one up.
Thanks for any replies

Since nobody has responded, i will start by saying this: Other than the ability of a conference bridge (either hosted by the BCM or an outsourced company, like sprint), i really don’t see how this falls on you. If a webinar is truly something they are interested in having, then they surly must have an IT department which can support and have it set up and hosted locally. Otherwise this is something they can; and again, have done offsite at companies like webex.com and the various others.

After researching this all day, I have came to the same conclusion. I will be in touch with the customer to go over this further. Hopefully they have an IT guy that will be able to clarify what they expect from me as far as this is concerned. Thanks for the reply Rusty

Hi Rich,
The BCM will be no help here. If they REALLY want a Nortel solution, they'll need to look toward the MCS 5100 or Microsoft's Live Communications Server.
I agree with Rusty too. If this is a Norstar sized customer, an outsourced solution will likely be the best bet. If you Google web meeting software, there are tons of options that would work.
Good Luck!

Thanks Marty I looked at the MCS 5100 today. For what they want, I also think outsourcing will be best. I have no idea what the MCS cost, but I will bet it's pretty expensive. Thanks for the info and the reply :toast:
