Installed callpilot 100 and created company directory. When caller selected extension/name, calls are transfered directly to MV instead of ringing first even though all exts are set to 4 rings b4 sending to VM. I resetted callpilot by disconnecting the power and waited a couple of minutes before reconnecting and it ually worked, at least for a while (don't know how long. I called and went through thegiration and still can not get the telephone to ring prior to sending to VM.

Need a little more info. I assume that Auto Attendant is answering??? What exactly are the keys they hit when trying to go to someone's phone?? If they hit * (star) that is the path to go to VM. If they hit # then that is the path to go to the phones. Give more detailed info. Is the person on the phone when someone else calls?? Do you have Forward on BUSY??

Just a thought....Do the extensions have call forwarding/Busy to the Call Pilot DN? If they do remove it.

Disconnecting the CP from power then reconnecting will not reset it.

Check your programming in CCR under "Rings". This is where you set the number of rings B/4 it goes to CP VM, not at each set.

MooreTel: Where is RINGS in the CCR Tree?? I haven't heard of this one. The settings in the phone system are on a per phone setting, to ring x number of times before going to VM.

Also make sure that you have DN dialing allowed in the AA.

What, if any programming have you done within the Call Pilot?

From within the Call Pilot, you have to tell it when to answer, what to answer, how to answer and how the call is to be treated by Call Pilot once it is answered.

The "Ring" are under "Lines" WITHIN the CP program, not the system programming.

You don't simply attach the CP to the system and have it work the way you want....boy how do I wish it was that simple.

If you haven't set it up, I suggest you get a qualified tech to walk you through it, so you'll be able to make changes later.

Just to clarify. The "Rings" B/4 it goes to CP VM is in the system. It is Forward No Answer.
The "Rings" before it goes to Auto Attendant is in the CP under the TABLE settings.
There is no "Rings" in the CCR area.

NTlayoff is correct, my error.

I reread hoale's initial post. I take it that AA is answering. Therefore, if the sets are not ringing, it must be that the extensions that were set up in either AA or CCR depending on which was set up, was not setup properly.

Most likely though, the Tree wasn't saved or activated. Does that make more sense?

Hope he does come back with more info, so we can clarify this better for him.
