I'm having a problem with a mailbox on a NAM. When employees try to send a message (980) or copy a message to this mailbox, they get a "mailbox full" message. If a caller calls in, they can leave a message just fine. This usually occurs after this mailbox has 10 or more messages in it. I edited the COS to give her more message time but the problem is still there. The staff is complaining that they can't forward any messages to her. Also, this user gets many calls in a day. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks
Chris

F980 uses mailbox numbers. Dialing DN's and the AA use norstar DN's. They can be different.

So it is possible you have 2 boxes. As an example...

Mailbox 221 associated with ext 222
and
Mailbox 222 associated with ext 221 or no ext at all.

So when you call 221 it rings 221 but when it FWDs to the NAM, callers are sent to MB 222. Messages retrieved at ext 221 are from MB 222.

When you F980 221 you are sending caller to MB 221 which could now be full.

This is common practice for GDMB (mailbox 100). Which by default is ext 100 but is often changed to the reception phone (ext 221). So you would call ext 221 but you would have to F980 to 100.

Thanks for the reply Marv. This mailbox is #239 assigned to extension 239. Apparently this just started happening. They have been able to forward and send messages to this mailbox for years but within the last month they can't. Should I delete the mailbox and add it again, would that solve the problem? This is a very busy extension and she gets a lot of messages throughout the day.

Thanks
Chris

Is it just that extension or are others starting to have the same problem?
Have you checked the general delivery mailbox to see how many messages are in there?

It's just that extension. What would the GD mailbox messages have to do with this extension?

I would delete the mailbox and then do a feature 981 and see if the prompt comes up "log" or "pswd."

This will tell you if there is another box on that extension.

Thanks TP, I'll give that a shot.
