I installed a MICS 7.0 today with CP150 3.1. I set up 2 greeting tables (Company A and Company B). Company A uses lines 1-4 and is accessible to all sets in the office as the main business. Everyone is on the directory. Company B is Line 5 that is not accessed anywhere and is answered by table 2. There are 6 phantom mailboxes that are going to be used for Company B using table 2. There are 2 guys that work for both companies and have two different mailboxes (physical extension with mailbox for company A and phantom mailbox for company B) If I call company B and I press the # key to hear the directory and type in the last name, I get the guy's first mailbox 222, he wants it to get his second phantom mailbox of 503. I know this sounds confusing but he wants 2 directories for 2 different companies on the same system and voice mail. I told him I would have to research that because I've never come across that before. Is there something that can be setup to accommodate this? The main thing is that Company A and Company B cannot interact whatsoever.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Chris

Since you can't have two directories, here's a few ideas:
1) You can turn off directory listing for the 222 M/B and then only his 503 listing would be there.
2) Get him to re-record his name in the company directory for both mailboxes as "John Smith from Company A at extension 222" and "John Smith from Company B at extension 503." They will get his 222 listing first and when they press "1" for the next available selection, they will get his 503 listing.
3) If he wants the 503 selection to come up first in the directory, leave out his first name/initial and I believe alphabetically it may work (you'll have to play with this, never tried it).

Thanks TP
1) He "absolutely has to have" directory listing on both companies
2)A caller cannot know that this system is shared for two companies located in the same office owned by the same guy. He wants to treat it as two "separate" systems
3)That sounds like a good idea, I'll try it.
He asked if I could make the 6 mailboxes on company A be last name first and the 6 phantoms on company B be first name first. Could I do this with a COS edit? I told him that I didn't think that it could do it but that I would check.
Basically I told him that his last resort would be to list the names of the 6 phantoms on company B on the customized AA prompt so the caller wouldn't have to use the # key for the directory.
Of course he wants the world first!

If I remember correctly, on CP you have to select directory by last name or first name, not both.
Basically I told him that his last resort would be to list the names of the 6 phantoms on company B on the customized AA prompt so the caller wouldn't have to use the # key for the directory.
You could take that idea one step further. Since there are only six of them, set up a tree with selections of 1 through 6 as direct transfers.

I'm rethinking this. On CP you do have the option of selecting both for names (first/last) but I'm not sure how that works. Have to do some reading.

Page 114 of CP operations: You can set whether callers can search the Company Directory by first name, last name or first and last names. For example, if a caller enters James, the names Jesse James and James Bond appear if the Company Directory option specifies both first and last names.
So it appears, no, it's not going to do what you want with it set at "both."

Actually that would work. Company A) only program the last name on the box and company B) put just the first name. Box 222 - smith, box 503 - joe. Not joe smith for both.

The other option is to make a CCR tree for company 2 that has a verbal directory. I.E. 1 for joe 2 for larry 3 for daryl 4 for the other daryl...

An extenstion of Rusty's suggestion for company B directory would a CCR tree with "Press 1 for our company directory" Then list off in Path 1 as an info menu "for Joe dial 501, frank 502 etc". Don't tell the caller they have an option of pressing # in B's greeting.

Thanks for all of your help guys. Rusty, the only reason I'm thinking that your first post wouldn't work is because Mrs. Call Pilot comes on and says - please spell the last name of the person you wish to reach, or please spell the first name of the person you wish to reach. You can only set the search to first or last so she will only say it one way.
I think I'll have to go with the other suggestions of a tree with a menu and transfers to the mailboxes. That seems to be the only way this will work.
Again, thanks for all of your help, now I have to try and get this guy to do this over the phone because I don't want to drive all the way up there again!!
