Got a new customer who has a CICS 4.2 I think, what are my options on this. He wants to be able to forward his phone to external number, so if anyone transfers a call to him it goes to cell phone, or if it could be done through his (Startalk Flash) mailbox, not just be notified but actually be connected to the caller. W#hat optins do I have??
Thanks

"Line Redirect" will work like Call Forward, but all calls to that line will be forwarded.
This is one option.
Better if the client has centrex lines. This can also be accomplished and wouldn't matter which line the call came in on.

If you have routes and destination codes built, you can use the call forward feature. This can also be accomplished through the voicemail. To use line redirect as mentioned above, the phone would need a line ringing in on it. In a nutshell, these are your options.

Keep in mind external call forwarding uses 2 lines.

F4 + destination code + phone number.
You could put the Dest code and Phone number on speed dial button (F*1) and do it with the touch of 2 buttons.
Marv is right though, 1 line in, 1 line out. Audio quality may be bad. I've had good luck with this on T-1/PRI set ups. Digital channels don't seem to have the gain loss that analog co's do when conferenced together in my experience.
We have a customer in California with an employee in Arizona. Her old extension hangs on the wall next to the KSU in perpetual line re-direct to her VoIP line in Arizona. The Destination code/Route uses a line pool with 2 VoIP Co's from a SIP/ATA box. The whole company can still transfer inbound outside calls and intercom her just as if she was still in the Cali office. The boss can press the same DSS key he always has when she was down the hall. They just can't use Voice Call. VoIP to VoIP = no toll charges, The T-1/VoIP conferencing sounds great, and I get convenient programming phone to boot!
Punch down all your damn pairs!..........(please).

Hi There,
Using centrex or (local loop lines in Canada)
You can do the following which uses the teleco networks lines instead of doing a supervised conference which uses two lines,
1. You need the route setup (for T1 & analog trunks) 2. You will need line re-direct setup for the set in(capabilities) 3. The voicmail box has to allow outbound transfer 4. In the voicemail outbound settings enter Phone / then for the number enter 9 (or your route code) then #542 + number
This does a hookflash on the centrex or Local link line and user the telco network and free's up the trunks on the PBX or Key system
