Great!, i have assigned the BCM50 its own static IP address, where is the RAS IP address? this appears to be my only hang up, the 10.10.14.0 does not look familiar, sounds like my problem , just need to know where the settings are. Also, is there a way to disable the internal router?

please advise

Oooops! It just occurred to me that you're not trying to DIAL into this thing. That is what I was giving you instruction for. If you're not dialing in, forget about the 10.10.14.0 network.

So, to access via IP... I wouldn't recommend a Public IP address on the BCM itself. Your best bet is to access through a VPN tunnel. And, as luck would have it, you've got a 2.0 version so VPN clients are supported. If you would rather not configure a VPN, use the dial-up method.

As for disabling the router (you pay extra for that you know wink ). Just disable DHCP, remove any conflicting addressing, and unplug the WAN port.

i would rather not configure a vpn or use dial up, is it possible to disable the router, so that i only connect to the bcm ( via Element mgr )
the BCM400 allows remote access with no problem, how would i set a public IP address on the BCM50?

ANY device that allows configuration/maintenance via a user defined IP address CAN be accessed over the public Internet. That doesn't mean that it should be setup that way.

Are you the owner of the BCM, or does it belong to your customer?
