Have a customer with MICS and PRI. Had the local lec turn the PRI up, they have DIDs, I can make out bounds sometimes, and receive in bounds sometimes. This leads me to believe that my programming is correct. Keep in mind the customer tried to program all of this himself, so I have been going through and trying to find all of the errors.
Can I default the system and reuse the PRI Enabler code?

Yes, you can default the MICS and reuse the PRI code if you have a record of it. If you don't have the key codes written down you will have to have them regenerated by Nortel KRS.

You have to go to Target lines programming and check out all your DIDs program to make sure that they are pointed to correct Ext. numbers or to the Pilot VM port. What means " I can make sometimes outgoing calls" What happends in most cases? Do you have busy? you have silence? what exectelly?

Vad, I did go through the Target lines 157.... I set up each extension accordingly and it does work sometimes. Sometimes the call rings then i get dial tone, sometimes the call actually completes and we can talk but it is staticy(like maybe the circuit is a little too hot) When I make outbounds sometimes it was going busy but that was before i changed routes and added 9. so I could use nine. After that was squared away i would make a call all is well. then the next call numbers would sit there in the display 94125551212 and it would just go back to an idle set after a few minutes or seconds.
Inbounds sometimes I get message number is not valid please try again, other times i would get my AA or ring the phone that went with DID. Its been crazy to say the least.
I am stripping the 9 after I dial, The carrier is sendnig me 4 digits. N12 ESF B8ZS. I am set for decending the LEC is set for assending. Tried 2 differnt t1 cards looped the circuit at my t1. Lec says all is good on thier end until I enable the circuit. Timing comming from the lec. any thoughts?

One time I had the same problem on MICS. Calls would drop, static no outbound andetc. Eventually we found that They had different protocol that did not match PRI setings. Go with your provider through everything including circute ID. SyYou dont have to strip 9. Norstar doing it itself. The only you have to pick a rout and asign PRI-A to it.( Rout 001, PRI-A)
You might have bad COMBO which is loosing Sinchronization. Try to replace if you have one spare.

Tried replacing the combo. Went through the PRI step by step with the provider. We changed it from NI2 to DMS 100 for testing, nothing worked. Is it possible that bad software is causing the problem? I usually have pretty good luck with PRIs this one has me scratching my head.

Have you try to go to Provision and make sure you did not change anything? One time I had funny things with PRI. Circute would come up and 5 min. later drops. We try everything(patch cord, CSU, PRI card, etc.). Provider can loop back his Smart jack but I can not. Engineer came on site. He pluged in hand made loop back RJ45 and had no problem. I plugged in mine from manufacture - dont work. To make long story short they replaced Smart jack and problem was gone.

I also had a similar problem. Telco was set for layer 3 reporting and the Norstar is only at layer 2. Telco changed to layer 2, problem solved. Just another thought.

It was the telco, I have no idea what they fixed but they reconfigured their end and all is well.
Thanks for all the help
