I am in search of a solution for a customer who wants to beable to page loud speakers from a remote location. There is not a PBX at the site he wants to do it via POTS line Does anyone know of a device that will accept co dialtone and activate the paging system when dialed I have searched Viking's web site and found a few for key or PBX apps but not sure on the POTS application. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
TIA Don

Valcom "V-9970 Digital Page Control One-Way" Go to https://www.valcom.com/numerical_frame.htm and click on V-9970 at the bottom of the list. It also requires a power supply.

I have the exact same request for a client of mine. I called Viking and confirmed that they had a device #RAD-1 which I ordered today. You can put it on a POTS line and will answer and put you into the paging amp. I will be installing this device on Thursday so I can't give you a review of the product yet. It's roughly $110. www.vikingelectronics.com on pg 18 of their 2003 online catalog. OR they have a faxback number 715-386-4345 product #410.

Assuming you already have a paging amp, how about programming a DISA. Dial in, enter extension, and page. Many systems have this feature built in.

Rover, DonM mentions that no phone system is present.
If no paging amp exists, Viking also shows another device which can be chained to the RAD device. It has an amp which can drive 3 speakers. I think it also sells for around $100. For $100 it may be cheaper to buy a low end amp from Radio Shack.

YOU MIGHT LOOK AT AVAYA'S PAGEPAL PAGING ADAPTOR OR WHAT USED TO BE THE HARRIS DRACON UNIVERSAL PAGING ADAPTOR MODULE (UPAM).
