The hard drive in one of my NAM's is completely DEAD.. nothing on it - Finally reached it's failure point...
Is there anything I can do to revive it? Get similar hd and somehow locate the default Image for the version? Would I still be able to conole in to it even though it's dead... It's been replaced with a smaller voicemail-only module which leaves much to be desired... only 2 dn's can access it at once.
Any chance of fixing it, or should I sell it off to a company as scrap?
I don't have the model # in front of me, but I'll update the post with all the info as soon as I have it. (It's at a remote location)
Anyone have any suggestions, or have you ever ran in to this before?
Thanks in advance, Matt

I know that you can get h-d's for nam's but i think it might be better to upgrade to a call pilot or at least a 4 port flash good luck

OOPS... I stand corrected... I typed two, but I actually replaced it with a 4 port flash unit.
I've got the nam hanging on the wall, just unplugged... any idea if it's worth anything?
Thanks, Matt

It's not worth much. Better to just fix the HD issues if you want to keep it.

Seattle-Matt: PM me if you are interested in getting repaired. I know of two places that will do it. It is not cheap though. I have had a NAM repaired at each of these places and they both did well. But some info you need to know before you decide.

Just to clarify... I don't need the data off of the nam... just a replacement hard drive to get it back to a functional state.
Thanks!

You will need your backup disks! The basic NAM came two ports. If you had any more than that and do not have your disks (or key codes), you are, back to basics!

As jwooten noted you will need your backup of the NAM config files to restore your active channels to a new hard drive.
When purchasing a hard drive be sure to mention whether your NAM is fiber or copper, and what vintage your NAM is (App Mod II, V1G, V2G, V3G). Hard drives are not interchangeable among the different types of NAMs.
