Evening,

I acquired a T7316, which is having a problem. I was wondering if any had heard/seen of this before:

The message waiting light on the top of the screen blinks when connected, as does the headset light, the speakerphone and muted light blink alternatively. The line status screens do not show the normal boot-up and the main screen is blank.

Do I need to send it in somewhere to get it fixed, or is this something simple?

Looking at the bottom it's a Release 01 2005/10. There are no jumpers in the jumper area either. Phone doesn't boot up on CICS 4.x or MICS 6.x.

Hey Kris, have you tried another working phone at the same jack? If a different phone works at the same jack, the phone needs to be repaired or replaced. Check the line cord too just to be sure that's not the culprit

An M7310 works perfectly on the same line. Is there a certain "problem area" I should tell a repair company?

Platinum colored T7316's aren't too cheap I think I'm going to try and get it repaired.

Have you tried another 'T' series phone at the jack or just the 'M' series?

The repair facilty should test the phone and repair it. You can include a description of the problem when you return it if you choose.

I only tried an M-Series. The only other T-series was on the otherside of the building. Long walk.

If the speaker and mute lites blink then you have a bad phone. The main chip on the board is blown. Send it off for repair.

I just replaced 3 T7316's with the same problem. Had been working for 2 months. They probably had a bad batch of chips go thru!
