I went out to change lecs today on a MICS that was installed in 1999,no upgrades, not sure of the version. I cut over 12 CO lines from AT&T pots to a T1 flex from XO. They supplied the channel bank so nothing was done to the system. The client is claiming that the CID now shows the number 1st, (which it does) but it use to show the name 1st. Is this because XO is sending it differently or is the client blowing smoke? Either way, isn't there a way to change this in the MICS programming? Thanks, MrG

Go into set admin, under the set in in question and see what was programmed. You can change it to Name 1st if it says Number 1st. Don't see why it would have changed on it's own, though.
If it does say name 1st for that set, 1st verify it....U know clients.....maybe then a reboot is in order.
Marv or some of the others would know for sure.

You can change what is displayed first in the MICS. If XO can't/won't change it on their end, it is in the set programming/telco features heading. Call if you need a hand Wayne. :toast:

It's possible the new LEC is not sending the name.

I agree. The LEC is probably sending number only, which is pretty common on channel banks.

Thank you one & all! I checked it at the XO demarc and sure enough only the number was being sent. They also did'nt have their switch, (XO) set to send the compianies name on outgoing calls, it simply showed IL call. All is well now. Thanks again. MrG
