Nortel cics, I am having low volume on all the handsets and static on 2 of the phone lines. This is a cics unit with caller ID card. To make matters worse with the low volume if you take a call and as you are talking turn up the volume all the way just so you can almost hear the call the next call you receive you will go through the same thing. Not right! What is the most likely culprit of this problem? This is very low volume! :shrug:

Are you using VERY old phones (Pre-release 19)?
Is there static at the D-Mark or just after the system card? If ok at the D-Mark, try swapping out the card. (I assume the static is on all sets)

There is system setings for the volume in the System's Programming. It can be set up for system or Set. If you change for Set it would keep the volume you ones adjusted. Default is System and you have to do that each time you pick up the call. Second isuue is that the volume can depend on many things: Power supply, CO line condition, Telephone itself or handset. If you have this on all system I would test that per line. If you Installer you should know how to determined static and find out were is the problem from provider or your system creates this.
