I installed a call recording device on one of the phone sets. Records off the handset with an adapter. I get the audio but is there any way to get the dtmf tones that are dialed. The recorder
saves the recordings by the telephone number dialed. The system was installed around 1990, the lines are programmed touch tone and I tried feature 808. Any help I don't work on the Norstar system much.

Not sure, but I'm willing to bet that you won't find a way. Your equipment is probably analogue, whereas the set is digital.

I also know that DTMF tones cannot be transmitted via an ATA. Good luck.

Thanks for the info, I hooked six of these recording units up same customer. Two of the locations have the 616 the others have newer systems and worked the first time. I might have to put the recorder on the co side and have the claims person select that line when calling or suggest they replace the phone systems...17 years of use.

Thanks again for your help

The other four locations have Avaya and the recorders picked up the dial phone numbers off the handset audio. The customer thinks the recorder at the other two locations are defective or installed wrong, we swapped recorders with one of the locations that worked same problem. The Avaya systems are a few years old vs the other systems that are 17 years old.

Thanks again

You can install it on the CO and then make a line code for the claims people...So they can't choose a line. They are directed to that line. [Programming Required].

Norstar phones do not transmit dtmf between the sets. They send ISDN digital information.
