I have two customers that would rather pay me to mess with their non-ksu phones and keep them running than buy a small "real" system. They have both spent more than they would have if they went with the real system. They would be much happier today with a real system. Go Figure!

When an old Stromberg KSU system that was installed many years ago at the church I attend started to act its age, I replaced it with (4) AT&T 944 sets.

Users started to notice an audible whine in the background of some calls. Replacement sets didn't resolve the problem. Staff complained about the poor audio quality of the messages left on an AT&T 1726 answering machine.

Ended up trashing the answering machine and telephone units and installed an Avaya Partner ACS R6 along with an Avaya Partner Messaging voicemail.

Expanded the Partner ACS system a few times so now we have a fine telephone/intercom system with no regrets about the upgrade!

Thanks for the replys everyone. Im going in today and I promised myself I would mess around with it for another hour or two. If I cant get it right, I just going to qoute a small system and be on my way.

Well all was good today. Only one intercom not working correctly and I qouted them on a DX80. They are going to limp by with this NonKSU system till after the holidays then purchase the Comdial afterwords. Thanks for all the input.

They will be much better satisfied with a phone system that will fit their needs.

Have them sign a retainer contract for that system. Something like a $100 depostit to guarantee the price. This will also help to guarantee your sale. There have been too many sales lost to "We will buy it after XYZ" and then someone else gets in and offers a good deal now; only for you to call in January and they say "oh, I am sorry we already bought a XYZ system a few weeks ago." Lock em' in and keep the deal.

if you can afford to let it ride you may want to install system now with a payment agreement for the first of the year.
