I have a customer with a nortel flash 2 voicemail with 8 lines going into a MICS. The first 4 lines pick up AA fine, but does not pick up lines 5-8 at all. It will pick up personal mailboxs but not AA on incoming calls. I have it set up in the voicemail box to accept AA after 5 rings. Is there something wrong with the voicemail or will it only answer for the first four lines.

Depending on the software of the MICS lines 5-8 are either Line 025-028 or 031-034.
Lines 5-24 or 31 are reserved for T1/E1.

Flash 2 voicemail on a 7.1 system? Why new system and old voicemail? Are they answering the calls on 0 rings? 2 port voicemails should never answer calls as it can only handle 2 calls at a time or if 2 people log into there voivcemail, the next call in cannot be answered.
Two girls later and I'm back.....lol...been gone a while but see same faces still here. Lol

Some clients are SO cheap, and they're like kids....they just don't listen....that's why.

I can't understand why companies even made 2 port mails. We seem to run into this a lot. Flash2 was probably the most common, because most of the other voice mails used Dialogic and Rhet boards which were always 4 port. My only complaint now is the funky licensing on the call pilot. I had to sell a customer a NAM because of that. They would not pay for the extra seats..

2 ports VM is a brilliant idea. Good for Companies with only 4 lines and back up AA operation. They would like to have Day and Night operation, Auto schedule, outside notification and etc. Why to have 4 ports per 4 lines?

A 2 port VM is not a brilliant idea, it's virtually useless! 2 users simultaneously checking their messages handcuff the unit, and forget trying to use it as an auto attendant.

I have quite A few Flash 2's in service. Most are used for voice mail with live answer and AA as a back up. They work well in the 2-4 line, 5-10 user range. After that I recommend a 4 port mimimum.
