I have a 400 on 3.5 that there must be a corrupt file somewhere on the hard drive because services don't all start. It never fully comes up, i.e. no voice mail or unified manager, you cant even get into the serial port. When you hook up a monitor it looks normal, no indication that it is a bad hard drive there. The BFT is fine, not the bad caps issue.
My question is does anyone know a way to just recover messages off the hard drive? This system has already been replaced and the user is up and running on a new system. They would like to know if we can recover any of the messages before I go ahead and re-image a drive and reinitialize the system. The drive is accessible when I connect it to a IDE to USB adapter. I can access the whole file system but don't know where to look for messages if it is possible.
Thanks in advance for any help.
