We have this phone system from the get go and for some reason the voice mail system stop working. I read a post which was made on April 2005, from Montana401, but I am still having the same problem. I can't access feature F983 or 9*1, it always says inactive feature..how can i reset the system? I tried unplugging the system, but still it tells me the same thing.

You probably have a defective power supply on the call pilot. Original call pilot voice mail power supplies are notorious for being defective. Does it have three prongs? If so you need to replace with a new two-prong power brick.

The power source has one wire which is attached to a brick and another cable which user a standard computer power cable which connects to the electrical outlet. Is that the one you’re talking about? If I need to change the brick, can I get the power source from any electronic store?

Thanks

Yeah, that brick is usually the culprit when a voice mail dies. You will want to contact the installer for a thorough diagnosis and replacement if necessary. You may or may not see lights, but the most important light is next to an icon with two arrows pointing inward at each other. If this is dark that voice mail will not respond. It's also important to note that call pilots take a long time to fully boot when powered on, sometimes 10 minutes.

I notice that no lights are showing, even with the arrows you said. When I disconnect the power and reconnect the power supply, I do here a noise, but I am not sure if that means anything.

It's just my guess but I think everything internally is fine with your voice mail. Those original power bricks fail all the time.
