We have a customer with a Nortel 8x16 using the Call Pilot 100 VM Module. Everything was great up till 2 days ago. They were no longer able to access VM from any phone and the Night Service would transfer all incoming calls to the fax line. help

We have had a couple of Call pilots lock up like this after power outage/surges.

What causes it? Who knows...it's a Canadian thing...

I was co-counsel on this emergency project. I must add some information.

The system is a 6x16, unknown software.
The Call Pilot is the 100 version.
Whoever installed it did connect the network access but failed to perform a backup of programming.
The system is installed at an Electrical Contractors business office. We wanted to find out who but no one knew so it became us.

Thanks for the Chime In John. I guess my head was somewhere else, I have no clue where the "Auto" Pilot came from. Guess I've been playing Flight Simulator too much!

Number one booboo the CP is installed on a 616, they are not compatible.

Two, always put the system on a UPS.

Marv, you are correct, my original post was not. It is a 6x16, and both, the phone system and the Call Pilot are on a UPS. That is why I am so confused  at the "Lockup" and loss of programming.

I also failed to mention, after resetting and rebooting the call pilot, the General Mailbox (100), the Administrator mailbox (102), the operator mailbox (221) and the 1st user's mailbox (222) did show up under the Call Pilot Manager. However they were inaccessible, until I reset the password, and their respective greetings and directory recordings were gone, along with ALL the other mailboxes.

CCSGINC: What Marv said, "6x16 and Call Pilot are not compatible."
In other words, things can happen, things don't work, etc...
