Well to tell you the truth it really does not matter, but since you are using the voice mail with it, i would only do 1 because when someone is transferred to that phone and they are on the other line it is going to be ringing in the background untill the answer it or the call forwarding kicks in. This is just one of the things that needs to be taken under consideration. It alo could be that the customer would like it that way. But i have done it with 1 button and had a voice mail system attached and i have also done it with 2 buttons and a voice mail attached to the system. Like I said above it is all a matter of personal preference.
Thanks, Daniel

It is a small machine shop. I would guess they would be putting the call on hold and intercomming the other person and say pick up line XX
They will have 4 7310's and 2 7208 phones so buttons will be a little scarce to the 8's that is whY i Ask. if I put one on it frees up a button

yea you can even put 1 on some and then 2 on others if you want. Thats what I like about these systems is that they are very very easy do get around. (except for T1 and PRI and BRI, But thats another story) But like I said above it all just goes with what ever the teritory (or however u spell it) premitts. so just look at it and wing it, I'm sure that the customer will be happy with whatever you provide him with.
Thanks, Daniel

If you want more button space, remove the lines, especially from the 7208's and put a line pool button. You'll gain 3 buttons right there. Might want to show them how to use "Call Park" if you remove line buttons though 1 or 2 I/C's as desired, but if they will need to conference you'll need at least 2. Should be able to CFB direct to VM I believe.

If you only use the hold buttons you'll have to manually transfer to voice. When using F986 to transfer to voice mail you require a free intercom path. So if you remove line appearances you will need 2 I/C's, a transfer key (no softkey transfer on 7208), a park key, voice mail tranfers key and probably a page key.
It doesn't matter how many I/C's you have if you are using CFB and the phone is off hook, a transfered call will go to voice mail immediately.
