Greetings all. I am working with a Nortel Norstar Meridian phone system at my office and we just removed 2 of the land lines brining our count from 4 to just 2 active lines. The system correctly selects the proper outgoing line, and calls do get router to the proper 1st line and roll to second when the first is occupied. But, when we pickup a handset in the office when the first outgoing line is in use it does not default to our 1st line, it defaults to a line which no longer exists.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to how I can successfully correct this flaw?
Many thanks for your consideration.
Jason

Remove lines from assigned line pool (typically "Pool A") by changing to "Public".

The main reason why most Installers set lines up as a Pool is to automatically select the LAST line in that pool, thus leaving your primary lines free.
For example, say Line one cascades to Line 2, but no further. The last 2 lines on your system could have been independant for a reason & in fact may already be in a separate pool such as B &/or C.
Therefore, in your example you need to do 1 of 2 things: change Lines 3 & 4 from Pool A,B or whatever to Public like Danny said OR change the prime line on all the sets to something other than that Pool. IE change it to None for example.
You need Installer access to do this and no, we won't divulge the password so don't ask. If you don't have the access password, contact a vendor in your area....small job, small cost.

My understanding is that I would access this feature through the following
Feature xxx Password xxxxxxx
But where do I go from there? AA? CCR?
Edit: Installer information removed.

NO - Do NOT post passwords. Please remove. Mod has been notified.
and NO - that is not where you go. It is in the phone programming. Under Lines.

Got it figured out.
Geez this is the only forum I've ever visited where information sharing is looked down upon.
You guys are like lawyers, wanting complete control over a system that you created.

You guys are like lawyers, wanting complete control over a system that you created. Your profile shows a gmail account and a profession of consultant. That is not a complete PROFESSIONAL profile. You come here asking PROFESSIONAL installers for advice and don't follow board rules. And we are the one's who are in the wrong? Good luck.
