HELP! I have a CICS (SP 30DHC04 NAT) handling 3 incoming lines and a CP100 (Version 31.10.14.22) that was installed about a yr ago. The service provider from whom we purchased the system (recommended by BellSouth / AT&T no less) is out of business and nowhere to be found. Item #1: can you all recommend someone in western NC, upstate SC or eastern TN who can service our system? Nortel put us on to a couple of dealers who haven't returned calls or don't carry / service Nortel systems any longer.

Item #2: help if you can ...

The CallPilot has gone unresponsive - feature codes don't work, connecting through the crossover cable doesn't work. CP was down once or twice before but we were able to reboot OR connect through a crossover cable and get it running again, but now nothing works.

Then, a couple of days later, our LINE 2 goes quiet. Lines 1 and 3 have dial, work fine, etc., but line two is silent. Calls coming in (or rolling over to line 2) show up, but when we try to pick up the call nothing is there (and the caller hears nothing but a click). We've reached one service provider who recommends resetting the system (supposedly an all-day affair), but that's going to cost about 1/2 the price of a new phone system. ARRGGGHH!! Suggestions???

Sounds like your power supply for the CP 100 is bad. You could have a bad trunk card (moving line 2 to line 4 in the system would determine that). But ultimately, you need someone to service your system.

Know of any board members or folks in the area you can recommend? The folks we've talked to (very nice people, by the way) say they're "familiar" with Nortel systems, but we would really like to find a (somewhat) local Nortel expert who knows the quirks of these beasts.

JTW,
Try South Eastern Telecom (SeTel) www.southeasterntelecom.com
I know they used to service Nortel but i'm not sure if they still do or not but give them a call and (828) 665-8005 that is their Asheville Office

Thanks,
Daniel

Call Pilots have had a bad batch of Power supplies. You may see a burn mark on the transformer and there is usually enough power that the indicator light is still on. Replace the cord and she should fire up for you. As for your line 2, it sounds like the line has a short and could possibly be your local providers issue. You can call out but when someone calls in, they get cut off when you go on hook or when the first ring goes through.

Thanks for the feedback. The line problem is fixed (bad port, switched it from 2 to 4). The CP is still down - power supply change did not work. Just tried the 8V cord today and nothing changed, although I did notice that the replacement cord is rated at 8V and 1.7A rather than the orginal 8v and 1.2 A. I was told the 8V was the key - any advice?
