Please clarify.

Do you want the customer to be able to simply pick up the phone and start dialing out?

Or do you want to hide a 2nd nine?

You can hide your outbound access code by using a a speed dial button and labeling it "Line Out".

yes, when the customer picks up they want to just start dialing without putting the 9 in to first get a channel out. I know it is in the routing where I have to make this happen but I am just not quite sure how so I will try what Vad60 told me and see what happens.
Thanks everyone

well Vad60, sorry it did not work. I am going to try another digit for example 8. I will set up another destination code for this and then hotline the extensions for the 8. There has to be a 9 being used somewhere in the programming and that is why I am having trouble but I have checked everywhere I can think of and there is no 9 anywhere. If anyone has any other ideas that would be awesome!!

Set up your route using PRI-A. create dest code. Test it make sure it works.

On the phones you want to immediately dial out use hot line > external > route, put in a pause as the one and only digit dialed. DO NOT ENTER any dest code.

User picks up the phone and dials straight out.

Lady Tech,
the only place you can have 9 is Acces Codes for pool A probably. You can take it out and start using Routing.

Clear the 9 from all line pools and also from external code. If it has to use 9any there must be some 2 digit codes, like 90, 91, 92 etc.or DNs that start with 9xx. I would clear all those, unless they have a LD t1 and you are trying to use a route for 90, and 91 to go to a different route than the local numbers. If you have 2 digit dest codes it will need to be absorb all. You should not need 9any with a 9 by itself. 9 absorb 1 with a route to PRI A. As far as not dialing 9, something has to dial it. If you hotline it you have to do all the sets, plus it gets confusing when you want to call internally. I bet they had a button with external# programmed as 9. By the way, I have run into trouble when the start Dn of a system ran the numbering up into the 900s. So, try to show a set dn and see if it lets you enter a 9xx in terms and sets. You cannot have any valid DNs that start with 9, or line pools, or park codes, or external codes. If all of that is clear you can use the 9 without the any.

I did have one anal cust that we upgraded that made us put the 9 on a button, and they had one for 8 for LD. In their old system they were line pool buttons. The newest software will also let you add a 2nd dial tone after the 9 instead of dead air.

ps. one more place that a 9 might be is in the hunt group DNs,

Until you can do a 9 without the any, there is something in the system using the 9.

I had that issue on our switch after it scrambled from a power bump. I figured it out. If you want to get dial tone and not have to put in a 9 to dial out on PRI-A, here is what you do. Of course make sure your dial plan is setup the way you want it. There can be no conflict between dial plan and dest codes. Set prime line to I/C. In Dest codes, add your local prefixes. For us it is 503 and 971. Then at 1A for long distance. Make sure route is set to your PRI route and delete 0 digits. Works like a champ!! If you have any restrictions you need to implement on specific phones, you will have to dig deeper.
