Hello all, nice forum here lots of experience and knowledge.

I have a question. We recently closed a satellite office and would like to use their NAM on our system, MICS 7. Question is, we currently have a working NAM that we would like to keep that is used strictly for VM and CCR. The NAM from the other place had Prelude ACD and I think VM also. Can we add the 2nd NAM for ACD use only and not use the VM side of it. I have extra fiber ports available so that is okay. Will there be any conflict with 2 NAMs with Feature codes and such? I'm pretty well versed with the phone system, MACs and programming, but never had to encounter 2 NAMS. I know it would make more sense to program NAM to be all in one, but I'm not sure the 2nd NAM is 4.1 to be compatible with my MICS switch level. Basically all I need is the 2nd NAM for Prelude and that's it. Thoughts from the true experts???

Well I can't say that I've ever tried 2 NAMS. I've done 2 Flashes and you can use 2 CP 150's.

You've got them, try it and let us know.

I'm curious to know as well if there would be any conflict with the feature codes like to administer the ACCESS server. Would it cause the other NAM to not respond or would there just be two sets of feature codes.

Wouldn't one be setup with the low codes, and the other using the high codes?

Can you change the Feature code range on the NAM, like you can on the CP150?

If my memory serves me correctly, you'll have to delete the voicemail portion of the NAM that is going to be used for Prelude ACD only otherwise there will be a conflict. If the ACD NAM does not have voicemail on it, then you should be ok as ACD feature codes are already different than voicemail codes.

The Nam used to come out with VM and ACD in one cabinet. Towards the end of Nam we were putting in two cabinets. One for VM and the other for ACD. I dont remember how they were loaded Nortel.

Thanks for the responses all! I finally have the system removed from the old location and users setup on our NAMs VM. There was a reply above about just deleting the VM side of the 2nd NAM. Exactly how is this done? Do I need to take the main NAM off the ICS temporarily? Based on the replies here, it seems 2 NAMs can be done. Should I just reset the 2nd VM to factory defaults and not set it up? Thanks for all the assistance.

It's been several years since I had to delete the voicemail from a NAM to be used as ACD only and now that the Call Pilots have been out for a while I haven't had to do much to a NAM other than basic voicemail changes. The reason the NAM's were seperated and the end of their manufactured life was because of crossed files between the ACD and voicemail programs. I'll see if I can dig up some info on deleting the voicemail from a NAM ACD.
