Hi,
We have a Norstar Nortel system and I want to turn transfer no answer ring back off. Right now if someone transfers a call, it rings them back, but they want it to go straight to vm instead. Whats odd is this doesn't happen on all extensions.

Does anyone know where the settings are for this?

Thanks!!

It sounds like you need to CFNA the exts that want VM coverage to the Voice Mail DN. The CFNA settings need to be lower than the assigned Transfer return (callback) settings. It's under Terminals & Sets --> Capabilities.

first feat 985. verify voice mail ext. then under
capabilities of terminals and sets go to forward no answer. change to the v mail ext. Now,the forward rings can not be LESS than the rings in AA program of line rings. example if AA answers in 3 rings, then your forward no answer has to be 3 or more rings. Usually the line settings are at 4 rings and the forward is at 4.

I sometimes simply set the Transfer recall high to say, 10 rings.

System Programming/Feature settings/Trnsfr Callbk: XX.

That setting is SYSTEM wide and not all users have VM normally. If I was a client calling in with a multi thousand dollar order, I'd give up up long before 10 rings and call the competitor. Therefore that would be the LAST suggestion that I'd give my client.

Your problem exists in the individual set settings and how they are programmed.

Everything depends on what the user wants; if not the business owner.

There are multiple possibilities here...
