I can call this system 20 times or more to line 157 and the AA will answer like it should, but then will answer in a MB (could be any MB).

To dispel the prog. errors, I have made the # a different target line, so I know no sets are assigned, as well as tell it in AA not to answer until 12 rings, and it never does ring or pick-up anywhere, until 12 rings. When it mis-routes it is always to a mailbox and not the extension, although the user hears the re-direct half ring. None of the sets have this line assigned. All sets do have fwd to VM. There are no sets that have a forward busy, or a forward put on by the user. The only ringing phone is 221 and it never goes to its general delivery. The PRI trunks have prime set to 221, but I have also tried the VM dn, which also did not help.

The Background:

It never did this before the upgrade.
It was a 4.1 PRI with a Nam 4.0.04c
It had a 2nd T1 with e-m trunks to another location.

Now:
1st was 6.1, now 7.0. Early 6.1 had issues and called for replacement, as well as the RAM cart. (Alot of both of these bad prods are in the after-market by the way. Watch out for the version numbers)

It also has a MCDN code in it now for using SL-1 PRI between the 2 locations, as well as one voice mail. All of this has worked great since the upgrade. The system is loaded to the max with target lines that match the ext # for inter office dialing, as well as 60 DIDs.

The original Nam as well as 2 more, now 4.1 Nams have been swapped out, and they all did the same thing.

Can't swap the system because of the MCDN and PRI codes.

MY big burning question. (Gone on for a year).

Is the NAM 4.1 really compatable with the later versions of Norstar, or did 6.1 or above actually move ahead of 4.1 nams. and we should really be using a call pilot.

Is there a real 4.1 upgrade from Nortel. Even though they all tell me they are 4.1 in the system, they were all upgraded by the same guy, which he installs a new HD and gives me a print out of set-up and ports.

In the upgrades we used to get from Nortel, they were a 3.5 disk(s) and a instuction sheet. Anybody ever seen a 4.1 Upgrade? (nam)

ps-we even have a different phone company since this started.

I guess I am going to hang a call pilot on it and call it 1000 times.

Any ideas, updates? Anybody want a new customer? They may be looking soon.

Usually system will pick up the lowest mailbox number that is available at time of incoming calls if it is not ringing anywere but has a Voice mail hooked up to. BTW if no set assigned in the target line it would go to system prime's mailbox anyway after number of programmed rings.

Do you do it yourself? Is it floppy disk(s)? (The 4.1 Upgrade) Any ideas on where to get it? Thanks

Yes, you do it yourself. You use a floppy disk and an external cdrom. I got the software from my technical support, so I don't know where you can get it from.

Per Vad60- I double checked-I mis-spoke- The target line in question is always assigned to 221, and the trunk prime-set also is 221. I have actually made it the VM dn but it didn't help. It is usually on yes, at 0 rings in AA. It only ends up in MBs that have a forward to VM from the set. If I push the rings out to 12 it rings at 221 during the ring cycle, but still might get a MB at ring 12.

Hi ndt4u,
I just faced the same problems on MICS 6.0 and NAM 4.1 at my customer. After power outtage NAM developed exectely the same problems like yours(Intern. calls no problems but Extern. or Transfered - no way. Goes back to main Greeting). I replaced NAM with CP100.
