Hello wise ones, I'm the IT guy at a small company in Hawaii, and hope that someone is able to spend the time to edumacate me a little on the setup of our CCR Tree.
What it is: MICS 7 + Callpilot.
Issue: Want to configure the Tree so that when a customer calls, and selects option x in the menu, the call will ring 2 phones.

\haha..I *thought* I would setup a Hunt group with the 2 members, then in the web interface at:
CCR Tree administration - CCR Tree Properties - Change - CCR Transfer Node Properties - I find I MUST use a 3 digit number, not a Hunt group..

So my *geuss* is I would change Outdial Method from Intercom to something else to accomplish the task... But if you would be so kind, I'd appreciate some education.
I have the manuals, if you want to direct me to a page in them.

If you set up a hunt group it will have a 3 digit extension number. Direct option x to the hunt group DN.

If you programmed your Call Pilot to match the MICS, DN length, then it should take the hunt DN as a transfer node. If the MICS is 4 digits long, then the mailbox length should be 4 digits long, etc.

If that is correct, then your process will work.

welcome to the greatest tech site on the web.

Hunt group is the way to go.

Each HG has a DN. Create a MB for that DN. you can put the DN of one of the phones in the Extension field and the other phone in the Alternate Ext. This will give you msg waiting and voice mail access for the HG on both phones.

Set the overflow of the HG to queue and overflow DN to call pilot DN.

You guys are quick, thanks for the rapid responses, and the welcome..it's made coming in on Saturday totally worthwhile!
glad to hear "Hunt group is the way to go" - Good! I'm not totally sucking!

Thx for the statement "Each HG has a DN.." it clued me in to go look for one.. -revisiting the manual I found The DN number range for hunt groups is 739 to768, and I noted that when I drilled down on a set to system programming -> Hunt group - show - I found that the HG DN's nicely display next to the HG's. sweet.

OK, well and good. I set up greeting table, CCR Tree, recorded prompts, and called the main number - good times, I hear my prompts and they work.
>However< eek
When I go visit an end users set, I find that the HG has decided to take over the 'Call park" button!
>Was I s'posed to determine where the HG would appear on a set's buttons prior to adding members to the HG's?
For now, I've kludgipatched by programming a spare button for the Call Park feature on the members sets, but this is newbi cheese.

I hope to now learn what step I skipped, so that I could assign the HG to appear on a particular button b e f or e I assign a member to a hunt group!

Thanks for the prompt to setup a MB for the HG DN.. - I would not have thought to do that untill I tested.

KonaNick,
It always takes over usually the button about the intercom buttons, and if I recall correctly you can't change that. Good Luck smile

Thanks,
Daniel

For example: a T7316e phone has 8 buttons on left and 8 on right.

The system automatically starts assigning buttons on the top left and down from there anytime you add: A line to appear, A target line to appear, or a hunt group to appear.
If you already have one of these and add another, the new one goes to the next button down, then over to the top right.
Once assigned you can move it then reprogram that button for your Park or whatever else.
Otherwise - just reprogram your Park button somewhere else.

I did say that you can move your line buttons and inferred that you can move the HG button.

I think you can move the Hung Group button, but thinking about it, I have never tried it.

But they do start taking over buttons from the top left - not by the intercom.

But don't forget, you should not have those line buttons on a phone with a Hunt Group button for THAT line.

smile Thanks for the info rapid responders. OK, I can deal with the HG's button munching, I'm not having to deal with more than 4 affected phones at this time, I just wondered if I was skipping a step that would prevent that.
. I note I didn't state before that I'm using the T7316E phones, good pick NTlayoff.

My next issue in this evolution is that if no one picks up when the HG rings, I get a system voice stating 'No one is available to take your call, goodbye'...'exiting the system'.
TeleMarv stated above :"Each HG has a DN. Create a MB for that DN" - Does this resolve that issue? ( I havent implemented telemarves statement yet)... then I Issue the HG members with how to retrieve from that MB right?
Also I worry that in HG - Line Assignment, there is no line assigned.. anyone want to expand on what functionality Line Assignment provides?

I appreciate all your time and input, I feel I've been able to move forward significantly, and you all have helped me up the learning curve. looks like I'll be here Sunday!

You need to set up the hunt group to if busy:queue, and overflow to the V-mail dn.
