I have software package NT5B24DB. Can anyone tell me the revision? Pretty sure it is an 824. I am having a problem with a singleline cordless on it. Everything I have says that I should be able to Flash dial *74 to park a call, but as soon as I dial the 7 it puts the call on hold and I can't retrieve the call back on the cordless. I can pick it up at any key telephone by pressing the line key. I don't even have to dial the *. I can just dial 7 and it puts the call on hold. It also puts the call on hold when I dial a 4. If calls are parked from a key telephone I can pick them up with the Call Park retrieval code that is displayed on the key set. I thought that the software revision may have something to do with the problem. This cordless is on an ATA adapter, not an ATA 2. I tried a standard singleline in the place of the cordless and it does do the same thing. I have also tried it on a different port with a different ATA adapter and it does the same thing. I would dearly appreciate some help. Thanks.

From my list NT5B24DB is s/w for a Modular 8x24 DR2. That's not your problem.

Why would you try to "Park" the call from the cordless or SLT? You wouldn't be able to see what the Park code is. But if you insist on doing it and GUESSING the code, Flash or Link, then 74 should work (No *, as F*7 is for contrast).

I would recommend using HOLD instead. Flash or Link 2 (no *), same thing to retrieve from the c/l or SLT.

As I said, as soon as I dial the 7 it puts it on hold and I don't even get a chance to dial the 4. I agree that hold would be better but the customer wants to park and besides hold doesn't work either. All of the material I have says that it should park the call in the highest park position which it says is 125 or 110.

If you do the Flash or Link, then 74 it WILL work....NO STAR. I fail to see what you're doing to place it on Hold, unless someone has fat fingers, can't read the dial pad, or there's a defective circuit board on that cordless.

Assume for a second that it is working. On all sets that have that line appear, it will show as "On Hold". To retrieve either pick up that line or the best is to use I/C, then the park code. TRY IT!

I assume the ATA is working properly other than that? You may want to swap the ATA just to rule that out of the equation.

By default, Park normally starts at 101 and goes UP, 102, 103, etc., but always reverts to the 1st when no-one is parked.

Regardless of what the client wants, they can't always or shouldn't always do things the way they think it should work.

Didn't do the star. As soon as I Flash and dial 7 it goes on hold.

Change the ATA. There is no feature code "7".

Robin1: When using an analog phone with an ATA, I would think the old software is the same as the new.
With the new software, the Feature key is: Flash*

What I have seen sometimes is that if you hit the * too soon after the Flash it is not ready to receive the *. Of course you can't wait too long either.
I always hit Flash, wait 1 - 1-1/2 sec then hit * followed by the code.
And yes I believe the call will sound like it is on hold after you do the FLASH.

It's probably an original ATA1 (hangs vertically on the wall). There was no transfer out capability. Hence why any feature code that starts with a 7 does not work.
