Norstar MICS, what would be the best way to restrict a DN to only be able to receive calls from certain extensions?

The situation is a school that has an alert alarm that is using a dead extension to activate it and thus only want the office phones to be able to activate it.

Would adding it to a restriction filter that is applied to all other phones except the office be a good idea?

After a second thought, the restricted filter would only apply to outgoing calls wouldn't it, so that wouldn't work. Any ideas on how to block internal calls to a DN?

You can't restrict just some phones not to be able to call One particular extension. At least I don't know how to do that. There is no Tenant Feature for Norstar. you can do this only based on Tenent services.

I had this same question posed to me several years ago! I ended up doing the trunk filter route with a Viking ring down.
You could always renumber your DN and if set for 3 digit change it to 4 and renumber it!!

Jim, wouldn't that be the same only harder to find the number for the guilty parties?

Yes and yes. Going to 4 digit just increases the difficulty! laugh

Changing the dn was my temp fix already, but it's only a matter of time before they start in again.

I was also thinking of something along the lines of placing the ext in dnd, giving the office phones priority and letting them do a dnd override, but the override goes thru as a voicecall.
