Hi, I just switched out an M7324 for a T7316e and am having a slight issue programming it. buttons number 15 and 16 I can understand being locked, but for some reason button 14 is also locked.

when I try *0 to see what is programmed i get the same information as an intercom button.
when trying the button it acts like an intercom button.

I want it to be a feature 60 button (page all). Is there any way to reprogram that button or is it always auto assigned?

P.S. If i add a DN to the set it goes to that button . . .

Remove one of the intercom buttons. Then program it for the page.

cloud200 : Welcome to the board !!! welcome

The number of intercom keys are part of the ADMIN programming. Except for a button being stuck, if you do the F*0 and find 3 I/C buttons, it is programmed for 3. As long as that is programmed as an intercom, you cannot program anything else on that button.

You need to get a Nortel tech that knows how to remove one I/C from the phone in question.
Once removed - it can then be programmed as a feature, internal, or external auto dial.

Thank you NTlayoff!

The system was set to have that phone have 2 intercom buttons in the admin menu. Went in and set tht set to have only 1. now it all works as it should.

The thing is i went for a training course years ago for all kinds of phone sytems but never actually used a Nortel until now. I guess its time to go for a refresh.

Keep in mind that with only one I/C path you may not be able to use F986 (transfer to mailbox).

In your original post you said key 14 which I assumed was the 3rd key up from the bottom right.
Now you say you only had 2 intercom keys, but your post subject says T7316e.

I am guessing that you do not have a T7316e but only a T7316 phone OR you have old software that can't utilize the HF button under the dial-pad.

So you must have HF as the bottom right button.

So what Marv said is important info to remember since you went to only 1 intercom button.

Yes, you are correct in the fact that it is a system with old software (ver. 30ncg20 nat from before 1998) and the HF is the bottom right button.
This system does NOT have a voice mail module installed although thanks for the heads-up.
The issue with the DN is a weird one as well. The doorphones call set 245 and then for a different set to see it, they have to have an answer DN for 245. But thats a case of if it isn't broken, don't fix it.
