I have a long time customer looking to upgrade his system. With the business he is in, he is asking for a diferent ring on each incoming line on the new system. Is there one out there?
Thanks

The Vodavi STSe has up to 35 ring tones that can be assigned on a per-line basis.

Depending on the number of lines and additional requirements, there are a number of systems that may work.

Although I am a Vodavi fan, the Partner's ring tones are much easier to discern from one another. Mike

I agree with you on that Mike, but with 35 tones, there are usually at least three or four that are unique enough. I thought I read in another thread that Partner's days appear to be numbered. If that's the case, I doubt that I would be selling one to a long-term customer as mentioned in the original post.

Most newer systems should offer at least 3 or 4 different tones if not more. Talk to different vendors in your area to see what's available and listen to the tones.

Ed - I take some of those treads with a grain of salt. Vodavi is getting bought by Vertical, but we're not shying away from it either. Even if the Partner is discontinued in three years (which would give the product family a total lifespan of about 20 years!) there will be ample parts on the secondary market for years and years.
Vodavi's 35 tones are essentially the same "tune" (except for the the last one) at different pitches - you can tell them apart when played one after another - but more difficult to discern without another for comparison.
The Merlin Legend/Magix had REALLY distinctive ring sounds!

Tell him to go Cisco....they can play musical tones! LOL It cracks me up what customer look for in a telephone system. Had a guy ask me once if it would play "Dixie" and have a little "Stars and Bars" flag pop up and wave. I told him all it takes is money and we can "Get R' Done"
