I installed cics 7.1 w/cid trunk card,10 stations for oil co. about 4 months ago. About 45 days ago customer calls to say cid not being received. I checked cid from tel co coming in fine and programing ok. I didn't reboot then, just called for new cid trunk card and replaced it. Cid came back up but system was a long time (4 to 5 minutes) coming back. I thought it was odd but everything worked ok so I left it alone. I sent in the trunk card for repair but thus far they can't find anything wrong. I originally installed a new battery backup to protect ksu and we haven't had any bad weather to cause power spikes. Yesterday customer called to tell me cid has dropped out again. I am thinking about doing a restart and reprogram the system. I don't have NRU and am concerned if I did and used it would it reinstall my glitz if there is one? To manually reprogram every button on every set would take a while and I hate to do it if it wouldn't do any good? Any suggestions?

7.1 takes a long time to start.
A reinstall may fix the issue, but likely it's the telco.

This might be a call log issue. Reset your logs and see if CID restores. If it does, increase the log space!

I just came from there. After verifying the telco was sending cid, I powered off and back on the ksu. Everything started working as it should. I'll probably try a restart next week. I might check the autobumping on the call log to make sure it's on first. Powering off and then back on probably wouldn't have made a difference if the call log was full, would it? I also might look at the event codes. I haven't ever gained anything from looking at them in the past except to see when they lost power. I appreciate the feedback. It makes me think of other things I haven't tried yet.
