Do any of you still work with any of these? We still have a few throughout the city that I'm trying to phase out. ![[Linked Image from state.il.us]](https://www.state.il.us/cms/telecom/products/images/32ButtonLSI.jpg)

I don't know what a Dimension console is, so I don't know.

I think it's a line status indicator to give a busy visual (like a busy lamp field) to other employees. We would use them on 1a2 systems back in the 80's. It's been so long since I've seen one I could be wrong. poolplyr should able to say how it's being used and on what type system. Mark

Yeah, it's a line status indicator. We still have a few of them. They're not used on any "system", just straight dial tone from Bell. I was just curious if anyone else is still dealing with these.

We used the Melco version. Looked like an old Merlin footprint. I have never seen one of those posted.

The one pictured (32 position) has a 50pr feeding it (usually 2 25pr cables/amphenol connectors). The LSI boxes that I normally deal with are the 16 position variety, that are fed with 1 25pr cable/amphenol connector. Each lamp/position operates by standard POTS dial tone. The lamp blinks with ringing voltage, and when the phone is off hook, the lamp is solid. Also, there is a power supply on a seperate, small (2 conductor) wire.

Why are you trying to phase them out? If the people are use to using them and they work, why mess with success? Mark

I still maintain (new-old) stock of the Melco display units and controllers for existing customers. Funny thing is that I never need to use them since this stuff never fails. Those Western Electric units you showed never fail either. I would keep the ones that you have until you have no choice but to replace them.
I imagine that when that time comes, Cisco will have a replacement that is more "robust" than the current busy lamp field that is needed.
The Redskins lost AGAIN. I am in a bad, but realistic mood.
