i have an 8x24 dr5 in a highschool and no matter what i tell them they allow students to use the console, is there a way to disable the DND feature because there are some students who activate it on the console and no one realizes and no phone calls come in

Reprogram the button to something else & remove the feature list under the handset. If they're smart enough to do the F85, you're S.O.L., Jay.

Put a FULL LOCK on that set. Then you can't program any buttons or change any buttons.
