I know that routing is usually for PRI, but that is not the question.

I have a CICS with 7.1 and 4 POTS lines.
I went into routes, defined Route 1 to use Pool A.
Then went into Destination codes and put in a 9, use route 1, absorb all.
Yes, the external is NONE and the Line pool codes are none.
When I try to exit from the dest code, use route 1, it says, 'Route not defined'.

I look at route 1 and all the info is in there.
I then look at route 0 and it has all the same info, so does route 2 & 3.
If I go back into dest codes and say 9, use route 0, absorb all (everything identical, except use route 0 not 1) then it takes the dest code.

Any ideas?? This is the second time I have seen this happen.
Is this a bug?

Check the other services night, lunch etc. The routes they are using for destination 9 may be undefined.

For instance night default is route 011.

by default all routes point to Pool A, try changing route 1 to pool B

I dont know if it is a bug or not - but i've seen it a lot of times

You have to change a Route before you can use it.
In other words go in and change Route 1 to use Pool B.
Then build your Desti code to use Route 1.
Now you can go back and change Route 1 to use Pool A.
Until you make a change in a ROUTE it will show as "ROUTE UNDEFINED" when you try to use it.

That is very stupid.
But that sounds very "Nortel-ish".
Thanks JimmyT, I will try that next time.

I agree it does sound stupid but if you really sit back and think about it. Unless you change a Route then you have not really Defined one for use. Nortel should have had them default to use no pool instead of A. Then I don't think there would be this problem.
