I am trying to get HG741 to go to mb EXT241 if it is not answered in 3 rings. I have the settings as:
HG741 with 5 total ext's
EXT 241 (one of the exts in the HG741)
MB 741 assigned to EXT241
CFNA to (VM1)EXT250

As it stands if the call is not picked up after 4 rings it returns to the 0/home menu of the CCR tree. This is an endless cycle. I would like people to leave voicemails for this dept after hours.
Any help is appreciated.

The thing to remember is, the HG is ringing and not ext 241 (even though its actually ringing). You need to make the Overflow ext 250 (VM1).

I have set the overflow of 741 to ext 250. In either case (OF to 250 or 741) the attendant picks up and says "the person you are trying to reach is unavailable" then reroutes the call back to the home menu. I have been through it dozens of times and tested it atleast that many times. I feel like I am missing something simple.

You have 5 ext in the hunt group.
Try moving x241 up and make it the FIRST member of the hunt group.
There is a move command in the hunt group setup.

It is currently M001. I even went as far as to make it the only phone in the group.

Is the mailbox initialized?
Are your lines assigned to the HG?
If not what is the transfer recall timer compared to the overflow timer?

Try removing the ext data from the mailbox.

You have to overflow to set 241 where it will ring one last time then go to vamil based on FNA under that set.

Or best bet is to create mailbox 741 and overflow to 250.
Setup mailbox 741 with Off prem notify internal to 741, so when a message is left it clls the huntgroup so anyone can retrive the Msg.

What is the version of MICS? I think I remember seeing the error "the person you are trying to reach is unavailable" if your not on version 5.1.
