Does anyone have a step by step procedure for upgrading a MICS 4.1 to 7.1.

I have a very large customer that a cold start upgrade is not an option.

This customer is maxed out and needs the two fiber ports that have been previously reserved for companion.
This customer also has PRI and an older NAM 4.0.04C.

I realize that the NAM will not work with 7.1 and needs to be at least 4.1, but I am also proposing a call pilot 150 to replace the NAM thus making it a null point of contention.

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I do not have 6.0 xc,but I plan on ordering the upgrade tool to take me from 4.1xc to 7.1 xc and a new NVRAM r.2.will this suffice?

Thanks

From 4.1 you must do one of two things.

1 Use the 7.1 upgrade tool.

or

2 Upgrade to 6.1 then you can go to 7.1. No tool required.

Always upgrade hardware prior to software.

Thanks Marv...can you advise about the changing of the NVRAM to R.2,and if it is done after the upgrade,or prior to inserting the upgrade tool.

Thanks Again,

I really do like this board for these postings.

As I said in my original post, upgrade hardware first.

You don't need to change the NVRAM, unless you're upgrading from an early release like T1 where you didn't have software cards. You just take out the software and leave the NVRAM, and then put in the upgrade tool or subsequent software (4.x to 6.x to 7.x). Of course, don't do a hot swap!!
