OK Marv...another opportunity to demonstrate your brilliance with Nortel goodies!
I have a CICS system, 4 incoming lines. How do I get each of the sets to display caller ID on the display for each of the incoming lines while they are ringing? They show caller ID when you pick up the set and are connected with the caller, but the owner of my company wants to be able to screen calls. I have reached the point where I am banging my head on the callpilot trying to figure this out and I am sure that is not healthy for the call pilot!
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Kev
And each of the sets has caller id enabled (an afterthought while writing this.)

Go to Terminal & Sets>Capability> Next until Telco Features. Set up your ext. with CID to Y, and choose what is coming first Name, Number or Line.

Currently CID is set to Y and 1stDisplay is set to Numbr. This is not doing it. Just for everyones information I checked the part number on the Card (CI) and it is a caller ID card in the switch (Part# NT7B75AAAE).
Is there a setting I might need to check in the line pool, we are not utilizing hunt groups, they are unnecessary in our business. Fairly straight forward setup, everyone answers any of the 4 lines on pickup, all lines are set up in Pool A

Is the CP answering the lines? If yes you must delay to the 2nd ring to get the CI info.

Make sure you are not picking call up on first ring. CID comes between 1st and 2nd rings only. So pick the call on second ring.

Found the problem..it was twofold. Firstly had to enable CID on each line in teleco features for each set. Secondly, lines were indeed being answered too quickly.

With that in mind...is there a way on the CICS to have the system hide that first ring so that there is no audible ring on the first?
And no, the CP is not answering the lines at all...it is sadly just being used as a dumb VM dumping station.
Just for future info if anyone is stumbling through this all lines on each set need to be set for appr & ring as well. Settings have to be modified for each individual set to enable caller id and each line has to be set on a per set basis to enable caller id.

Turn ringers off on sets.

OK thanks guys. Just told the boss he would have to suffer past two rings, he does not want the CP to answer the phones, so he lives with the two rings. Thanks to all of you.
