I have an MICS that uses a port that is hooked up to a bell.

We have the CFNA turned off and still get a voice mail prompt after six rings. It does not prompt us to leave a message. If we make an intercom call it will ring until the end of time like it is supposed to. They are using a CCR tree to hit the bell. We are doing a transfer from the CCR tree.

This "worked" before we upgraded the Flash and moved them from a CICS to a MICS.

Any help would be appreciated.

Jonathan, stupid question maybe, but why have the inbound caller hit that option in the CCR just to ring a bell or is this bell part of a hunt group?

When a call comes in they have the option of hitting "2" for the shop. Then it rings the bell and one of the guys can go to a phone and use the pick up key to answer the call.

Why not set it up as an external bell instead of using a DN?

The problem Jon is the call is recalling, via the transfer recall timer, to the DN that transferred it. In this case the voice mail. You can lengthen the timer to 12 rings, but it will eventually go back to the voice mail.

Dave, I'm not sure what you mean either. If understand correctly these are call being transferred out of the AA.

Johnathan called me and the destination DN Ext has an ATA setup on it with a 90 volt ringer attached. I had thought that it was a 24v ringer as an extension bell which would should have been set up as an aux bell.

Your explanation now makes sense, Marv as we couldn't figure out why it was going to VM when there was no VM assigned to the DN.

That was it. We changed the transfer callback from 5 to 12 and all is well!!!!

This place is so AWESOME. I posted, got help from Dave (had him on the phone twice), Marv came in with the solution and meantime I got a PM from Rich telling me to call him if I needed him.

All of this while my tech was onsite doing other work. This was a "while your here".

Thanks so much!

Amazing!!!
