I'm upgrading a Nortel Norstar system to a new system. The customer say's the Voicemail had crashed and they can't get into there voicemail from the outside or from another EXT. But it is working to leave MSG’s

I'm changing the system now and need to know how to check MSG’s in other Mailboxes from one EXT that we will leave connected.

I guess I need the voicemail access code and how to check MSG, Any information would be a helpful.

I got Feature 981 but can't check other mailboxes. Only the mailbox that I dial Feature 981 from.

1) Has to be from a M7310, 7316, or 7324 set.
2) F981, then "Other"
3) enter the desired MB # & their password, OK

PM sent for access codes

You should be good to go...

From an 2 line display phone dial F981. Instead of entering the password press the softkey "OTHER". The display will change to say LOG. Now you enter the mailbox number + the password followed by #.

If using a 1 line display phone press # in place of OTHER.

FWIW: If the VM unit is a CallPilot and the box for "enable auto log-in" is checked, you will only be able to access the mailbox for the ext. you are using.

I think it's actually F981 * on a 7208 etc.
