Have a BCM 450 at a new customer site. They were having problems dialling out and receiving calls Pri is programmed properly but the monitor was showing only 4 channels working , the rest had question marks behind them. it's like the thing didn't recognize the pri. Had to reboot the system to clear it up. I also lost the route programming . I also had issues when we turned up the pri. Wouldn't recognize the pri. DTM is ok, pri matches Telco.Can't find any documentation on any 450 issues Has anyone else had this problem

What do you mean " Wouldn't recognize the PRI"? Are you talking about that D channel is not operational or provider is not seeing your PRI card?

All indications were the PRI was present except the 450 wasn't seeing or allowing calls over all the channels. it's weird and hard to explain. When I used the Monitor, I could see traffic both ways on the 1st 4 channels only and the rest (they have 9 in total) had questions marks and could not be used. It is like the 450 didn't know they were there and caller #5 couldn't get in. Rebooting fixed the issue. I also had to reboot it when the PRI ws installed. There were no power outages and the route programming disappeared. Just wondering if anyone else has had issues like this with the 450

I used to have the same problem on Legend with fiber Lightpath's PRI. I could make a calls only on first 2 or 3 channels. It was three days of battle but then some guy from Level II support changed some settings on their switch and all start to work. Its seems to me the same problem you are having right now. Its very strange how BCM wouldn't use all 9 channels if they all available from provider?

Note that there was some issues with PRI. We had to call Nortel and they dialed in and installed a core-tel patch wich did help....since then patches have been released.
ISSUE: B-channels locking up on PRI** RELEASE: BCM 450 R1 CR: Q02003707 SYMPTOMS: Customers are reporting an intermittent problem with random channels locking up on PRI. The problem appears to be triggered by incoming calls because it usually happens on the first few channels. Customers rarely report issues making outgoing calls. WORKAROUND: None STATUS: Update BCM450.R100.COMBO-45 is Generally Available for this issue. RECOMMENDATION: Download and apply update BCM450.R100.COMBO-45 to systems exhibiting the described behavior.

Checked the Nortel site, can't find the patch Can't find anything for patches for the 450.
