had my call pilot talking successfully to my cics for about 8 months. did not make any configuration changes to the cics and cp stopped working. i replaced the rj45 cable, went to a different port on the ethernet switch and to the router directly and changed the power supply from 8volt, 1.2 to 9v, 1.0a and reseated the sw card.
what happens on power up are the following: 1. when connected to rj45 cable, 2 ports to the cics and power, it cycles through (for ever) the 3 green lights sequentally and 2 line ports are illuminated
2. when not connected to the rj45 cable and not connected to the 2 line ports, the 3 lights all flash at once and the 2 line ports are illuminated.
sounds crazy but any thoughts?
cics is 7.1 and cp is using 3.1 sw.
thanks,

The line ports must be hooked up for the CP to run.

First you went backwards on power supply, the 9 volt 3 prongs are defective, use the 2 prong 8 volt PS.
1. Remove the RJ45 patch cable and boot up, let us now if it booted up ok.
2. Same as RBF's answer above.
