just took over a BCM 50 rls 2. checked and installed all patches. they have a pri and the main number appears on 4 sets out front, Ext 2221. lets call it 777-xxxx. here is the problem. they have another set that has it's own did, lets call it 777-yyyy that is set to ring only as the intercom is the last 4 digits of the did. this extension also has 1 appearance of another did 777-zzzz. when you call 777-xxxx it rings 4 times and goes to the general message mailbox attached to 2221, which is what they want. they also want extension yyyy to have an appearance of the main number 777-xxxx on it. when i add it with a ringing appearance, the incoming call will ring 4 times then go to yyyy's mailbox instead of the general message as it did before. all the other sets have no other did appearances on them, only yyyy. yyyy has standard fna to vmail, no forward busy. the target line for 777-xxxx has 2221 as the prime. when i take the appearance of 777-xxxx off yyyy it's fine. must be friday, my brain isn't working!!!! also the voicemail set for 777-xxxx is set to 2221. any ideas???

How does 777-xxxx get to the GDM? CFNA on 2221?
You'll have to adjust the CFNA timer on yyyy to be longer than CFNA on 2221.

777-xxxx forwards after 4 rings I'll give it a shot, but I thought I tried it already.

Yes it is 4 rings as well as 777-yyyy by default. System chooses yyyy because it is not associated with GDM that takes another extra ring before call ends up to it, but yyyy is legitimate MB that will accept messages after 4 rings. Adjust your FNA time for yyyy to be 6 rings as Marv suggested and problem will go away.

You may also have to adjust the recall transfer timer and DRT.
