Second Monday in a row at this location. DTI card going into alarm about every 10 min and causing the system to reboot. Many alarm and event codes: 40, 336, 327,372(about 97 times). Network interface cable test good. Smart Jack also goes into alarm. All resets in about 1 min, but it takes longer for system to reboot. Went out last Mon, cleared alarms, set time, watched system for about 1.5 hours, prob never returned through Friday. They first called the provider who said they had problems, then sent a sec tech out, who said there were no problems, all equipment problem.

Started again last night. I can replace the DTI Card and/or the clock card and see if that fixes it, but I hate to, because with Nortel, it is almost never the equipment, and almost always the provider.

Any ideas?

I agree, 90% or line issues are carrier end.

I usualy get customer to lie to carrier and tell them we replaced everything and still error.
They then fix it.

Sounds like they have bad pair going to the gain.

I second that, I'd say it's even more than 90% of the time that the Telcos are at fault.

If you have an external CSU, check the status log. If not, you can connect to the smart jack card serial port and look at circuit stats. The memory is limited but it should have several days worth of errors!

Smart Jack says all errors from CPE.

Here is where we are. It worked fine from about 5pm on Mon to 5pm on Tues. When I got there on Wed morn the system had defaulted. Reloaded database, purchased a new PRI enabler code as system id had changed, and the old code would not work. Left at 6pm everything was working. About 8:50pm got a call it is down again. As far as I can tell it is not bouncing up and down, so it has probably defaulted again. I also replaced the DTI card and the 6 Port Combo card.

Help!!!!!!!

If the system goes down and defaults, replace the software and the software cartridge.

Yuck, that would be a 3rd Enabler code for the customer! Quite a racket.

If you are getting your PRI ENABLER Codes from the right place, they should be able to Regenerate your key codes for you, since you had to change System ID numbers.

Ok system did not default, but it was "locked-up" reset power, normal operation restored. Made a 20 min call, worked fine. After about 40 min up time it locked up again(Phones have display, but not current, and no functionality). DTI card is in alarm when system is locked up.

The great mystery is if the system is locking up because the PRI is going to alarm(which I don't think should happen), or if the PRI is going to alarm because the system is locking up.

I am trying to find a consistant interval with the lock up, and then perhaps reboot the system without the circuit connected, to see if it still locks - up. Is that a waste of time?

Reminder -
Replaced DTI Card
Replaced 6 port Combo
Have not replaced SW or KSU
When the problem first started It was rebooting every 20 min, then it defaulted, now it is locking-up.

One other thing I want to verify, though I do not know why it would change after 4 years....

Telco has hunt order low to high, that would be ascending, I have my PRI set for descending. That is correct right?
