Hello, all. Ok, I am new here. I appreciate any information that I can get. We use Nortel 3903/4 in our school gyms. Needless to say, phones and basketballs do not mix. We are looking for a protective cage to put over the phone much like the cage that is used over the clocks, except the phone needs to be accessable for 911, etc.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I have been searching, but have not found anything to use. Since we have 95 schools, cost is always an issue.
Thanks in advance for any information.

to the board! I don't know of anything available commercially, but others here might. You could always have one made up locally with a hinge on one side and support your local economy!

With 95 schools you must have a vocational section that sounds like a nice shop project for a few students.

Unfortunately, that particular school is in the middle of a transition from a very old building to a modern new one. All of the metal manufacturing machines are down for the count until after the new year. Good thought, though!

Arthur Bloom makes custom enclosures. Maybe he'll chime in and have some ideas for you. I've used these in similar situations. They aren't inexpensive though. They may, however, be able to offer you an educational/volume discount.

I use the saying "you're not thinking outside the box". Considering your geographic location and the extremely large military population including ship and aircraft repair facilities, I would target a few as a community service project!

if budget wasnt an issue, since they are not obscure phones, i would go with one of those phone enclosures from guardian, otherwise, especially in a gymnasium, wood would make sense, less chance of injury if a student bumped into it. The schools i work for we installed some old northern telecom outdoor phones (like you find in a dugout)
