I have a Norstar Meridian 8x25 DR5.1 system with one CO incoming line, and 8 phones.

I recently had a power outage, and now I cannot get a dial tone on Line 1. When I call the incoming line, it just rings and rings until it goes to voicemail, but none of the phones ring.

I can use the phones internally but cannot get a outside line, Line 1 just has dead air.

Do I need to get the phone repogrammed, since I can see the date was reset as well, or do I have a damaged card?

Is your "Line 1" really connected as line 1 on the block?

Sounds like it has defaulted, where only the REAL lines 1 & 2 will be available by default, while others have to be reprogrammed.

If it's has defaulted: Get a UPS battery backup connected AND get the capacitors on both the s/w card and the KSU changed.

If you don't know how to do it, get any electronics shop you know to do it. Small price to pay to avoid this every time the power fails.

Sounds like its been defaulted. How long was the power out? You have capacitors that retain all configuration and administration data for up to 72 hours without power. If these caps are bad you will lose programming. I would invest in a ups. Its gonna need reprogramming. Good luck.

The button that you THINK is line 1 you need to check to see if it really is line 1.
Hit Feature *0 then hit the line 1 button. It should show you in the display what the phone thinks that button is.
It doesn't matter if the system defaulted or not, if that button is indeed line 1 then you should get dial tone. ( as long as you really did have dial tone there before )
(maybe it was a bad port and they skipped that line and called line 2, line 1. Then when the system defaulted you are now trying to use a bad port??????)

If no dial tone you either have a telco issue or bad hardware

But then as they said, you still need to get the caps replaced.

Sounds like line 1 port blew or it was a brown out and line did not come back up like the rest of the system did, a reboot might fix it thats the case.

Check at the dmarc to be sure you have dial tone coming into the system. could just be coincidence, but maybe line 1 is dead from telco, just coincidentaly at the same time as the power outage. Coincidence has bit me more than once.
