would like to ask about the ata port on the cics
am testing a system in the shop and not had one do this before, ata port (ylSL) on co cable is supposed to be the built in ata, have a phone on
that port which is 237, programed for line pool A
dial 9 in access codes to get out, prime line is line pool A,
ata setting to phone, works great on intercom etc. cannot pull dial tone on line to dial out,
i keep getting busy signal , slow busy, i must be missing a step or them darn dear hunter's have been in my shop messing with it, anyone know what i might have wrong?? any help would be appreciated, thanks from rainy illinios.

Last time I checked the ATA was not on the CO cable.

Actually, he's right - it is on the CO cable (24 of the pairs on the Stn. cable are used for, well, stations)

Sounds like there are no lines in Line Pool A...

thanks so much toner, that was it, i must have had a brain cramp also, anyway my mind was on the big deer hunt this weekend and not on this system, thanks so much for all you guys do for all the techs out here.. i know they really appreciate you guys.. dinker .

Try setting it up for hotline to external number (9) the access code for line out. Then make sure the set is programed for prime line IC. I gather you want the set on outside DT when going offhook?
