No one is doubting that it is here to stay. What is debatable is whether or not to the desktop is the most efficient use of the technology. In your previous post you said you weren't aware of a VoIP switch that required 1-2 hours to patch or upgrade. If you search this site you will find installers of high end VoIP technology such as IP Office and BCM both state that there is a 1-2 hour upgrade process. You have to know the competition product as well as your own. Allworx is not the be all end all in the VoIP world. As far as costs and ROI go take a look in the installer forum at the recent post about a 15 set Cisco install and tell me it's more cost effective.

We don't believe in negative sales strategies so I will not even touch IP Office in this discussion. I don't believe that Allworx is the cat's ass either, We are talking about a being competitive and giving the customer a superior product. Why would you even think of using Cisco as a comparison for competitive, I would suggest you take your own advice and study the competition.
To be honest " he doth protest too loudly" springs to mind here. I really don't care what you guys do out there, but I do care about giving our customers the best solution for their budget and IMHO I truly believe that 90% of the time if they are buying a new system and their infrastructure is uo to snuff VoIP is the best choice.

By not considering the Cisco which is the the number 1 provider of VoIP apps (or Avaya or Nortel) I'd say you have a lot to learn. These are what we run into on a recurring basis. Not some little name that may pop up occasionally. Good luck. End of discussion.

Actually last I looked Shoretel was #1 VoIP but you are right this is counter productive but you guys seem to take this as a personal attack which it truly isn't. If you are truly studying your competition you should also know that the name does not guarantee the best choice again I refer to Cisco and Avaya. Nortel is a good product but has scalability issues. Good luck to you too.
